Located in the once elegant residential area known as Paseo Colon, today this avenue known as Avenida Dos houses a myriad of banks, hotels, business centers, and restaurants and is a vital transportation artery of the city. A five to ten minute drive down this road puts you in the heart of San Jose, where you can enjoy the hustle and bustle typical of the capital, while visiting interesting museums, theaters, shopping centers and crafts markets. The hotel is conveniently located only 15 minutes away from the Juan Santamaría International Airport and a stepping stone away from the Interamericana Highway, the road that leads to all major westbound natural attractions. The name of the hotel, Parque del Lago meaning "the park with the lake", stems from its neighboring park, La Sabana, San Jose's " Central Park", which houses a beautiful man made lake.

This midsize business-class hotel is located on the western edge of busy Paseo Colón, right near the Costa Rican Art Museum and Parque La Sabana. Rooms are large and modern.

The junior suites are especially spacious, with a comfortable couch, sitting area, wet bar, and microwave oven. The best room here is the rooftop penthouse, and it's not that much more expensive than the suites, and worth the slight splurge if available. There's wireless Internet throughout the hotel, and an elegant little restaurant and bar area just off the lobby. This hotel is convenient to both downtown and the western suburbs of Escazú and Santa, with easy access to the country's major highways.
