Detailed Itinerary
San Jose – Tortuguero – Sarapiqui River rafting II-III – Arenal Volcano – horse back riding – Fortuna waterfalls – Manuel Antonio national park
Day 1
San José / Arrival.
Day 1. San Jose arrival We will be picking you up at the airport to take you to your hotel in San Jose. Here will be forwarded to you a packet with all the necessary information for your trip.
Overnight in Casa Conde Hotel & Suites.
Day 2
San Jose / Tortuguero
(B, L, D).
Today expert rangers in Buena Vista will pick the right horse for everyone and you will all go through the trails and over the hills to the natural spa. The whole family will have a lot of fun at the “mud baths” and the thermal springs, which are located within the forest. The adventure continues at the canopy ride. The exhilarating sensation of a canopy zip line tour cannot be matched by any other experience — it’s the closest you’ll ever come to flying. At the end, you will land on a platform high up on a tropical tree. A guide will be there to assist. Top this active day with the waterslide, a 400m long slide through the forest. Overnight in Buena Vista Lodge.

Day 3
in Tortuguero National Park (B, L, D)
All day to explore Tortuguero, guided boat rides to the National park of Tortuguero with big chances of seeing wildlife. Your naturalist guide will point out at the beauties and the intricate relationships in the tropical lowland rainforest. A true “amazonic” environment that will be revealed to you. Many chances to see wildlife: egrets, herons, parrots, kingfishers, sloths, howler monkeys, caymans, water turtles…
Overnight in Pachira Lodge.
Days 4
Tortuguero to Sarapiqui (B, L)
Overnight in Sarapiqui at Centro Neotropico Sarapiquis.

Day 5
Sarapiqui white water rafting / to Arenal (B, L)
Enjoy an exhilarating 13Km rafting ride along the Sarapiqui River . No previous experience required. First safety instructions at the put-in followed by practice paddling to then run for about two hours on class II and III rapids on the scenic Sarapiqui River with following rapid sequence. All boats used are top brands 14ft, used with 4 to 6 passengers plus river guide. Along with the rafts, safety kayaks always in number related come along. Back to the hotel for lunch and then to continue your trip towards Arenal area. Overnight in Montana de Fuego Hotel.

Day 6.
in Arenal / horse back riding to waterfall (B)
A nice horse back riding trip this morning. A beautiful example of the Costa Rican country side will be found along the way, cattle farms and agriculture with the chance of seeing some birds too. After that you have to walk five hundred meters into the forest to get to the waterfall, which is 70m high. At the base of the waterfall there is a ¨natural pool¨ to go swimming if you wish. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.

Day 7
Arenal to Manuel Antonio (B)
It´s time to go to the beach. You will be picked up to go over the mountains and to the Central Pacific region to spend two nights in Quepos and Manuel Antonio area. Enjoy this afternoon at your leisure in Manuel Antonio, considered one of the most beautiful national parks in Costa Rica. Overnight in Hotel Espadilla.
Day 8.
in Manuel Antonio (B)
There are plenty of activities and tours to choose from. Manuel Antonio offers nature walks at the park, sport-fishing, sea kayaking and snorkeling among others. Or just relax. Overnight in Hotel Espadilla.

Day 9
San Jose (B)
We will have our transport pick you up at mid morning. You will have plenty time in San Jose to do last minute shopping. Overnight in Casa Conde Hotel & Suites.
Day 10.
Departure day.
If your departure flight is no earlier than 10am our transport services could bring you directly from the beach to the international airport. Otherwise we will have you come to San Jose the night before. Also extend your stay.
